LEAK DETECTION IN REFRIGERATION
Leak detection is the major problems in refrigeration equipments .
Here is the some methods to detect the leak in refrigeration equipments :
Ammonia . Leak in ammonia system is located by the following methods :
(1) Sulphur test . melt some sulphur floowers with slow heat and dip short pieces or heavy strings into sulphur and dry it .in order to locate the leak.light the candle and hold it near the suspected leak . it is very simple process to detect the leak .
(2) Litmus paper . litus paper is turned to blue colour if there is ammonia is present or leaking .
Freon -12 . halide torch is used to detect the leak of freon vapour .
as all we know that at present the technology is very fast so now for detecting the leak there is electronic leak detectors are available which produce the buzz when brought near to the point of leakage .the intensity of the buzz is proportional to the leakage rate
